Everyone wants a job they can legitimately enjoy waking up for in the morning. While this may be hard to come by, these Orange County businesses have figured out how to make their employees happy—happy enough to be rated the best companies to work for in Orange County by OC Metro. OC Metro releases a list of the happiest workforces around in their business magazine each year. Here are the top three from this year:

Arbitech. This hip server distributing, network equipment storing company earns a living by selling tier-one computers for low prices. What makes it the best place to work for the 68 employees? There’s an onsite gym with a certified trainer who teaches classes daily, catered lunches managed by a nutritionist, and a retreat every year for employees and their families to exotic locations like Puerto Vallarta, Vegas, and Palm Springs. Not to mention sponsored department trips that entail skiing, off roading, boating, and water sports.

Earthbound Media Group. This company offers strategic marketing and creative communications to their clients, and paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, car washes, discounts, and three day weekends to its employees. A ‘healthy lifestyle’ is the key factor to keeping employees happy, so extended lunch breaks are preferred and laptops are provided. If that’s not enough, the office is adorned with a Nintendo Wii and arcade.

Boost Mobile: Home to over 470 employees, Boost allows employees to bring their dogs to work with them, provides videogames (PacMan and Air Hockey) in the break room, and flat screens airing MTV, FUEL TV, and VH1 in the lobby for customer and employee enjoyment. The perks may make it fun, but the wall paintings make it stand out. The walls at Boost are covered by graffiti artist’s finest works.

Whether you’re looking to get a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or MBA, there is a school in Orange County that teach it all. The school you choose should depend on your past education and plans for the future. The University of California Irvine campus offers a Graduate School of Management. The UCI graduate program is a bit pricey and moderately hard to get into. If you think the UCI Graduate School of Management is a bit out of your league, the University Of Redlands School Of Business Orange County Campus is a good alternative. Here, the cost is cut in half and you can choose from an MBA program, multiple Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, or Business administration degrees.

If you’re serious about your studies and have some serious cash lying around, you might want to consider the Pepperdine University Irvine Graduate Campus. They offer a Fully Employed MBA for a light tuition fee of $68,275 (payment options are available). You can also chose to pursue an M.S. in Management and Leadership, a Bachelor’s Completion Program, earn an Executive MBA, or a Presidential and Key Executive MBA.

The not so serious, but still eager to achieve, can look into California State University Fullerton, where you can learn all you need to know about business and its counterparts. Other options include DeVry University – Irvine Center where part time or full time enrollment is available, or Westwood College of Technology which offers a variety of programs designed to prepare students for high-demand careers.

Whether you’re new to the area, out of an old job, or just entering the work force, Orange County provides an abundance of helpful tools to help you find the job you’ve been searching for. A good place to start is by looking at current list of companies with job openings. As of now, Pepsi Bottling Group is looking for a Relief Route Sales Manager, merchandisers, Production Maintenance Mechanic, and a delivery driver. The MemorialCare health system is also hiring administrative positions as well as financial, nursing, professional, or support service. If neither of these locations or positions sounds appealing to you, be sure to attend the Anaheim Job Fair on Monday, August 9 to see who’s hiring in the OC. Dress appropriately—you want potential employers to see you looking your business best—and bring multiple copies of an up to date resume to hand out. If you haven’t gotten your resume looked over by a professional, it is highly recommended that you do so before submitting it to any employers.

Orange County is also proudly associated with online job search sites such as Monster, Orange County One-Stop , Jobing.com, Vital Link, and Orange County Department of Education Jobs. They also host their own online website complete with job listings from various fields of work. If you still can’t find a job to your liking, check out job listings in the Los Angeles area. If you feel unprepared for a full time job in the real world, Orange County offers many career/life coaching opportunities that can help you prepare for a job. Among these programs are the Dale Carnegie Training course and YaMo Coaching.
